The latest update is out now, bringing a host of new features to the Overworld. The most exciting additions are the Trial Chambers and the maze, but there are also a variety of other options to explore including a new Crafter and the wind charge and mace combat features.
The new Trial Chambers are sprawling structures crafted of copper and tuff, offering players a range of challenges and rewards to claim. They’re a great place to test your mettle as you battle waves of hostile mobs, fight against new bosses, and claim rewards for every player in your adventure (including a vault that scales in difficulty with the number of players).
Ominous trials are another opt-in feature that will spice up your Overworld journeys by triggering ominous trial spawners across the world. These spawn more challenging waves of mobs, such as skeletons, silverfish, husks, bogged, zombies, and slimes. Defeat all the mobs in the spawner to claim a reward, and a key that unlocks an ominous vault. These vaults contain a range of rare loot, including a heavy core that can be used to craft the mace!
Other improvements include the new Crafter, which lets you automate crafting with redstone. You can now craft armor trims, banners, pottery sherds, and 20 new paintings to decorate your builds. The new Play Screen UI also allows you to compare stats with friends, to see who’s broken more blocks, traveled further, defeated more mobs and played longer.
